I am working on a project where a WebMethods MQadapter running on a
AIX platform is connecting to MQ V5.3 running on OS/390 and MQ V5.1 running on
Tandem/Compaq NSK. In both our Queue managers WebMethods continues to start channels
until the MaxChannels is reached.

It appears from doing a DIS CHS(*) that about half of these channels are never even used. On both platforms
we have problems getting these channels stopped and the resources released.

It sounds like Webmethods is either starting a bunch of threads or is dropping/losing connections.
Anybody have any experience with this?

webMethods MQSeries adapter is far from being perfect, to put it genlty. There is no XA support and there are some problems with queue polling timeout. If you have time and someone to do it, try to write your own adapter using webMethods ADK (that is, in fact, what my company had to do).
