Upon completion of a "silent" csd5 install, is anyone aware of any .LOG files that I can check to ensure that it was installed successfully ?

Also besides a log file, is there any other way to detect if CSD5 has been applied to the workstation. The reason I ask is to protect against possible problems that could result from somehow being executed on the same machine twice. I would prefer to include some type of detection to determine if CSD5 needs applied and only apply it in that circumstance. Do you know of a file version # to check for or possibly a registry key value that might indicate the currently installed version or service pack(CSD).

The only way I see to remove the CSD5 is logging is as an administrator and on the start menu, within IBM Websphere MQ, it says "REMOVE LATEST CSD"
is this THE only way to back it out?

thanks all!

%temp% amqicsdn.log is written during the install (unless you use an option to move it).

mqver is the real way to check csd levels. Reg key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\MQSeries\CurrentVersion\CSDS Applied
has a value of CSDxx if its installed, as I understand it, but it is not documented and may change (ie dont blame me...)

Backing out is running the correct amqicsdn.exe with the cmd line option MQPUNINST=1 ie
C:\mqm\bin\amqicsdn.exe MQPUNINST=1
(Which is the same as the shortcut)

Jason, after the CSD installation, I wanted to do some cleanup. I noticed it creates this directory C:\program files\ibm\source\WebSphere MQ CSD05 EnUs with tons of folders etc.

Can I delete all this stuff, or should I leave it alone? the reason I ask is i did notice the file amqicsdn.exe is in there too.

thanks

You could also do mqver to find if there is any CSD
