I hope I am posting in the correct group if not I apologize

I need an opinion and advice, I have to enable the OSS personality on the NSK that is already configured for MQ V5.1.

The question I have is it better to run the install again of mq to enable the oss pieces or should I delete the current installation and re-install enabling the oss personality?

TIA

When you installed MQ, there should be a file copied onto your disk called MQMPAX. You just need to run PINSTALL on this pax file for the MQ OSS files to be installed/copied.

In case you dont have this file on your disk copied, you could just extract it either from the GA or any CSD pak file. Verify where this file is in the pakfile using command" UNPAK IP22664,,LISTALL"(for CSD02). Once you look up and locate the file(which vol and subvol), just extract that file and install using PINSTALL.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
Kumar

To answer your question:

You _don't_ have to rerun the install to enable the OSS support. All the OSS option (of the install) does is extract the MQMPAX file from the tape.

MQMPAX contains the files needed (JARs, etc) to compile and run OSS based programs. If I remember correctly there are no OSS based utilities. All the MQ utilities still run under Guardian.
