Hi ,
I am designing a Queue Manager for certain production transaction , the msg inflow would be around 14000 msgs / day .
I am not sure as to how to define the size of the queue or what paramater corresponds to the queue size .
I want ot know what is the maximum messages(in terms of size MB) that a queue can hold .
Please reply urgently , its very very urgent.
Thanx in advance |

It can't be that urgent, if you're willing to wait for us to answer it for you, rather than looking in the documentation or using the 'Search' feature here.
The maximum size of any particular message allowable is 100MBs. Therefore, the maximum size of a particular queue is equal to 100MBs * the maximum number of messages that queue can hold. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Yes, but if you will receive messages larger than 4MB (default) you need to set MAXMSGL in QM and all queues. A queue can´t be larger than 2GB.
I suggest you to read some things in system administration or command reference manuals. Look at MAXMSGL and MAXDEPTH to understand Jeff´s example.
Hope it can help. _________________ Carla Viragh |
