I am running a Perl/MQ script on windows that does a simple MQCONN and then returns a message indicating success or failure. This works fine if I access my local workstation MQ environment but when I try to connect to a queue on a remote server, I get a (2058 - qmgr name error) error.
I double checked the Qmqr name and it is correct. On the remote server, I set up a server connection channel and on my local machine I set the MQSERVER=SVCONCHNL/TCP/IPADDR(1414). I have done a successful amqsputc to a test queue on the remote server and it works okay.
I am not sure what to check at this point. Is it possible that the MQCONN command needs to be coded differently if it is referencing a remote Qmgr and queue? I did not think this was the case but now I am kinda grabbing at straws.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated,
