I have an older program built for DOS written in COBOL. Is there anyone who could look at the program and decioher the passcode needed to edit the program. The owner has moved to a new location and I need to edit the street address. I have found the references to the address in .CBL and .COB files, but when I change the address manually, the program does not work correctly. HELP!!!

Well, if you posted a snippet of the code, someone at www.mqseries.net may have an answer for you.
What exactly do you mean by

Roger,
You know, you should have a sunset for all your products. Now look, you have to support all your old 1980s DOS programs
But yes, it is a very puzzling post. Perhaps there was another Capitalware Inc. back in the days? _________________ Brandon Duncan

Hi,
I generally don't do COBOL programming unless the manager has a whip in one hand and a check in the other.
In my 80's / BBS days, I only ever did C and Assembler. And I posted it free without locks or passcodes (long live Turbo C ).
Have you ever seen the ad by Attachmate where it talks about new applications getting access to legacy data but the M/F COBOL developer died in 1992?
I think someone is looking for a quick answer when there isn't one. Although, I could be wrong.

Roger Lacroix
