We are running MQ 5.2 on Solaris 8.
My user ID's primary group is "staff". When I create a queue, the group "staff" is automatically give "+all" permissions to the queue.
This implies to me that the primary group of the user who is creating a queue is given all permissions to the new queue. Is this correct?
Which then leads me to think that, as an MQ admin, my primary group should be "mqm". Or, that I should su to the mqm ID to create queues.
Your thoughts will be appreciated. Thank you. |

You are correct MQSeries gives the primary group, you should use the
mqm id for all your MQ Work, however changing the primary group should work. _________________ Jeff

Additionally on UNIX authorities are granted to the primary group even when authority is granted using "-p user".
