Hi all,
I am bit confused? Many people (the vendors) keep asking me as to whether i know WBI....
Now my basic question is that do they mainly talking about Web Intermediaries (WBI) or they talking about WebSphere Business Integration suite.
When i pose this question even to the vendors are not able to answer.
So what exactly shud i infer from WBI if someone just mentions it?
Rgds

My group uses the term WBI to mean WebSphere Business Integration and we include all of the products in the MQ family (eg, WebSphere MQ, WebSphere MQ Event Broker, WMQI, ...). |

I guess I didn't list it, but we do consider CrossWorlds as part of the family. And to say it is confusing, might be an understatement...... |

The whole WBI space is getting more and more confusing as the names are all alike... |
And yet everyone seems to know what they mean when they say "WebSphere" - like "What experience do you have with WebSphere?".
"Well, I can do X, Y and Z with WebSphere MQ, and P, Q, and R with WeSphere MQ Integrator."
"Yes, but what experience do you have with WebSphere?"

Well wasn't that the whole idea of IBM to do it in the first place?
"Where do you want to WebSphere today?" ...
Ah you don't want to choose between a PC, AS400, RS600 or a Mainframe
solution? to confusing? we have a solution!!! buy an e-Server!!!
Ah you don't want to choose between 'the current 150 products underneath'? we have a solution!!! buy a WebSphere!!!
Also makes old and dead products re-live... like DataInterchange a product I worked with in the early nineties and wasn't going anywhere... it's back!!! 'WebSphere' on top old box and off you go...
Waiting for WebSphere OS to resurface (OS/2 rebranded), I'll bet it runs like hell on todays hardware...
even heard someone make a comment about WebSphere DB... once...
Works for users/decision makers... is a nightmare to us just figuring out what was bought in the first place, let alone make it work...
Oh well, keeps me off the streets and busy...
