Hi,
We're running MQClient V5.0 on a Windows 2000 box. We've installed MA7D, MA7E and MA7K as extensions to the Lotus/Domino functionality. We have triggered Notes agents which pull messages from the hosting MQServer box, parse them into mail and deliver them.

1. We are planning to upgrade the server upon which MA7K (TM as a service) runs as follows:
From MQClient V5.0 to MQClient V5.3
From Notes V5.x to V6.5 or V6.5.1

From the abstract for the support pac, it looks like we'll be okay with both of these versions, but the folks who "own" the box (Notes team) wanted me to try to verify that the TM Service will still work with these upgrades. Any advice?

2. We're also running support pack MA7E for the trigger monitor itself. My understanding is that we no longer need to have this installed, if we're running your 7K support pac, since 7K supplies the TM itself. Is this true?

3. Finally, we also running MA7D (32 bit extension for MQLSX) because of MQClient V5.0. If we migrate to either MQClient V5.2 or V5.3, the need to also install MA7D was removed. Is this correct?

Thanks in advance for any advice...

RatherBeGolfing,

I posted a question sorta related to this here http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13756

It's my understanding that MA7D has been removed from MQ 5.3 and also is being withdrawn as a SupportPac on IBM's site.

Domino R6 now has the correct JDK <along with some MQ APIs??> to interface with MQ Series.

Just my $0.000000000002

My understanding (from memory...) is the LSX cat 3 (supported) support pack is for use with Domino v5.x, and not supported for Domino v6 (since you can then use the Java API). It was withdrawn until it was decided to extend support until the end of 2004, and is again downloadable. The Notes trigger monitor code is cat 2 (unsupported, as-is).

The MQ LSX code was included with MQ 5.2, and so you dont need it there, however it was removed again when it comes to 5.3.
