Hi !

I'm trying to improve performance on a workflow system and I'm looking for advice in best pratices or recommended settings for an fdl file (DOMAIN section). Where can I fin info about the parameters on the fdl ?
For exempl how to determine if the number of EXECUTION_SERVERS is enough ? I'm running AIX.

I did found in older appends on the forum some advice on DB2 setup but litlle on MQWF.

Thanks, joao

There is really not a lot of documentation out there on MQWF Performance. Probably the best source is the WP01 transaction pack that you can get from the MQSeries contact admin Packs site.

GOOD LUCK

If only MQWF servers (and the queuemanager and the database) is running on your box, then you can use number-of-execution-servers = 3 * number-of-physical-CPUs a a number to start with.
If you have additional components like e.g. Webclient and/or UPESes or other non wf-related programs running on the same box then use number-of-execution-servers = 2 * number-of-physical-CPUs as a good starting point.

After having done that you can watch how your throughput increase or decrease when adding or removing execution servers. for fine-tuning.

Nice.. Picture Richard..

I noticed some good recommendations in the "Best Practices Guide". I have tracked down many unique performance issues. And I stress unique, because most are probably due to the way we use the tool. I can suggest that you analyze the DB queries for some potential new indexes.
