Warning, newbie question.
I wonder if anyone as an opinion about using MQSI as a messaging test tool? Our system has grown and the message set expanded to the point that creating test harnesses and test data sets is growing increasingly difficult. More often than not, an apparent code problem turns out to be a test data problem.
I was wondering if it was reasonable to consider an MQSI hub as sort of a "universal test harness". Essentially, an application submits a message to the hub. The hub evaluates the message against a set of rules. If it is a valid message, and a response is warrented, the hub sends back a canned test result message.
If its possible, I see the real benefit being individual developers and the message librarian could maintain the test message logic and library using the tools provided by MQSI instead of having to manually manage sets of test messages and maintain message rules in code.
Is this a reasonable application of an MQSI hub?
Thanks, Ben |

Sounds good to me. However if you are using MQSI to simulate the real application, then this is not the same as testing the real application with test data. |
