We have been experiencing some problems with a Clutered-WinNT (MSCS) system running MQSeries. The NT-Cluster is an Active/Passive arrangement and the software specs are as follows:
The OS is M/soft NT-Server v4, with Service Pack 6 installed.
MQSeries is v5.1 with CSD level 5 applied.
MQSeries Support Pack MC74 has been installed.
Another application worth mentioning is M/soft SQL Server v7.0.
Basically the MQSeries Resource Group has been failing over from the primary to the failover system without reason. When we attempt to problem solve the failovers, we find that the amount/level of error reporting is vastly inefficient or missing entirely. The amqerr0*.log files (Sys & Qmgr) usually display start/stop entries, no errors. The FDC's generated are believed to be created as a result of the failover process, not from the cause of the failover.
One of our problems is that the Cluster.log file (set by env variable ClusterLog) is 100% devoid of MQSeries and only contains SQL Svr and MSCS entries. Has anyone else had troubles with MQSeries entries into this cluster file or ideas how to rectify?
Does anyone know which application (MSCS or MQSeries) is responsible for generating entries into this Cluster.log file?
We are at the end of a lengthy process of upgrading our disparate systems to v5.2, but are unable to upgrade this NT-Cluster until we have some answers/solutions. Unfortunately IBM no longer supports v5.1 (ended 31/12/01), so I am open for any ideas.
