My company is wanting to have multiple client machines communicate with one server (cost savings are driving this one) which is really not an issue as such. What I am having trouble with them wanting is for the server to initiate a session to a application machine as a client. (not the one that the original message was from)
At the moment that application machine has a full blown queue manager on it and the application is triggered. It then reads the message and does some work then it replies back and closes down. I am not sure of the application design but I believe that it processes any and all messages and then issues an MQDISC.
I am trying to convince them to leave the full blown queue manager there (for simplicity if nothing else) but I want to be sure that my arguements are sound. Can a MQ client application be triggered over a client channel? The application queue will always have the same 'destination' but the reply could be back to anywhere.
