This information comes from Volker Hoss (MQWF Development) via the IBM MQWF Newsgroup.

It is an answer to a question posed by Douglas Krawczynski regarding the future of Websphere MQWorkflow.

Volker Hoss wrote:

Doug,
we hear such questions from many people these days so I want to take the opportunity to give some anwers in this newsgroup:

1. MQWF 3.4 is NOT the last version of 'MQ Series Workflow'. There is more to come in the near future.
2. The workflow engine running under WebSphere is already available: it is the Workflow Process Choreographer that comes with WebSphere 5.0 Enterprise Edition This workflow engine is indeed written by the same guys that have written MQWF.
3. The AppServer environment is certainly the direction the different IBM workflow products are heading to while converging to a common technology stack for runtime and tooling. Therefor IBM has published best practices guidelines and an investment protection white paper to ensure that MQWF customers can migrate as smooth as possible to the new technology. However it is far too early to provide a detailed general migration plan for all the complex existing bussiness processes of our customers.
4. Last but not least I want to point out that IBM has changed its Software policy providing support for software products for at least 3 years after GA of a release.
