I am new in MQ and I am having problems instantiating the MQQueueManager. I have this very simple code:

MQQueueManager mQMgr = new MQQueueManager();

and I am getting a CompCode: 2, Reason: 2059 error.

What do I need to do? I already have a reference to amqmdnet.dll. I am using MQSeries 5.3 on Win2K. My environment variable is also set up.

Is your environment variable correct? What is it set to? Does it match what your server environment is?

Which environment variable are you using? What port is your queue manager listening on? Is your listener running?

And is your actual queue manager set as the default, allowing a connection attempt that does not explicitly set the QM name? You did not indicate that you were setting the QM name anywhere.
