This may be trivial, but what is the maximum number of queue managers you can have on OS/390?

You can only have one per subsystem. The queue manager nam eis the same as the subsytem's name. You can have as many subsystem as you want, so long that you have the required resources.

We have 6 QMgr's in One Lpar, 19 in the Sysplex.

On OS/390, MQSeries runs as an OS/390 subsystem. The subsystem has a name (the queue manager name) and applications can connect to it using this name. The subsystem is started by executing a JCL procedure that specifies the OS/390 data sets that contain information about the logs, and that hold object definitions and message data (the page sets).
The queue manager name is the same as the OS/390 subsystem name. |
