Previously I had seen this channel SYSTEM.AUTO.SVRCONN in running mode. Yesterday I created sender and receiver channel and now it does not seems to be running. do i need to explicitely run it with runmqchl command..

Are you sure that the SYSTEM.AUTO.SVRCONN was running? This is a system channel, used in most cases only as a "model" to create another server connection channel. If you have already created channels, you don´t need to worry about the system channel, it should be "inactive". But if you use the system channel (I don´t think so), start it... _________________ Carla Viragh |

In MQSeries Version 5.1 and later, there's a feature that can automatically create a channel on the server if one does not exist.
The purpouse of SYSTEM.AUTO.SVRCONN is to be the default server-connection channel for these feature (on AIX, HP, Linux, z/OS, OS/400, Solaris, and Windows boxes).
So, depends on you to use this channel for your connections. This channel is a MQI channel. It will be "running" while connected. After the connection ends, it will be "inactive".
