I have a group of elements repeating 'n' number of times in a CWF input message (Min Occurs 0, Max occurs 1000) . I have the count of occurance coming in as padded decimal in the message before the repeating group. I can't use this count in Repeat Reference as it would accept only integers.

I prefer using CWF itself and think that setting "Repeat Count" to "max Occurs" would be an overhead.

I'm using MB 5. (I've read that MB 6 would have supported 'unbounded number of occurance' provided the group is terminated by the end of bit stream.)
Any ideas suggestions ..

What is the logical type of the 'padded decimal'. If it is 'xsd:float' then it will not be allowed as a repeat reference. I think you can change it to 'xsd:integer' and make it work.
Not sure what you mean by 'padded decimal' - the above advice applies to both 'Packed Decimal' or 'External Decimal'.

Repeat count variable has logical type xsd:decimal and CWF Physical type is Packed decimal.

Change it to xsd:integer, but leave the CWF physical type as 'Packed Decimal' or 'External Decimal'.
