Hi ,

I have a QM on a legacy system sending messages to a QM on AIX.Can we have one more QM on AIX and can i send messages from the same legacy QM through a diffrent channel for the new QM?

If I understand your question, the answer is yes. You can have multiple qmgrs on your AIX box. They can both communicate with the legacy system. They will have their own sets of channels defined and they will each use a different port for communication with the legacy system.

On the legacy system both AIX channels are connecting to the same port.Is that ok? The channels going from Legacy are connecting to diffrent ports on each AIX QM.

Right, the scene you have is:

1 - Legacy system is listening both AIX QMs on port 1414.

2 - Each AIX QM listening on diferent ports (listener port 1414 for QM1 and listener port 1415 for QM2).

3 - Channels on both AIX QMs will point to 1414 (legacy system).

4 - Channels on legacy QM will point to 1414 or 1415 depending where the message needs to be delivered.
