Say, QM1 is the queue manager for Configuration manager and QM2 is the queue manager for Broker. Now how can I send a message from a queue(INQ) in QM1 to a queue(OUTQ) in QM2
you first have to define a communication channel connection between QM1 and QM2:
On QM1 define
1. Local queue named QM2 with usage: transmission
2. Define a sender channel from QM1 to QM2
(name it e.g. QM1.QM2) and use QM1 as its
transmission queue and use the ip address
and port number of the listener of QM2 as
destination.
On QM2 define
1. A receiver channel named exactly the same
way as the the corresponding sender channel of QM1 (e.g. QM1.QM2)
Now you may define a local OUTQ on QM2
and then define a remote queue definition
named INQ on QM1 pointing to OUTQ on QM2.
Put a test message on INQ on QM1 (you can't use the MQ Explorer to put test messages on remote queues, stupid restriction). It should
appear on your transmission queue QM2 on QM1
unless you already started the sender channel QM1.QM2. Start the channel if you haven't done so, and - voila - it should appear on OUTQ on QM2.
If you want to be able to send messages from
QM2 to QM1 as well. You will have to do the same steps again, just replace QM1 with QM2 and vice versa.
