I had problems with my config mgr (2.0.2) and so exported all the message sets. I recreated the config mgr and then reimported the saved message sets. I can even deploy these msg sets. However, when I come to try and check them out, moduify and check them back in the system complains that the msg set is frozen - when I try and unfreeze the msg set I get an error ....
BIP1842E: Cannot unfreeze the message set (USZ_CRMS_01, level 1).
An unfreeze operation has failed for the message set (USZ_CRMS_01, Level 1).
This is an internal error. Turn on Configuration Manager tracing to capture details of the error, retry the operation and contact your IBM support center.
Any ideas???? |

You can not check-out a message set (or any sub component) when it is in frozen state. You should first Unfreeze the message set and then checkout to modify it.
Have you tried enabling trace on Configuration Manager? Check for any error in event viewer? _________________ Kiran

Hi,
I'm getting the same error. Kiran, I cannot check unfreeze the message set without first checking out, but when I unfreeze the message set after checking out, it gives me the same error as what Nick is getting. There are no error at all in the event viewer. I managed to enable the trace for the Config Manager but the log is not formatted properly. I tried using the mqsireadlog command but I have no idea how to issue the command (it keeps giving me an 'invalid qualifier' error )
The funny thing is, I'm getting the error (for the unfreeze process) only on my User Acceptance Environment config manager machine (Windows 2000). I will not get the error if I try the same process on my local development machine (also on Windows 2000). Both machines are using the same version of MQSI (ver 2.1) with CSD03 installed. I don't see any difference...
Are you able to solve your problem, Nick? |

In your last update you say that your machines are running WMQI V2.1 CSD03. There is a known issue with this CSD which causes problems in unfreezing messageSets, adding physical layers etc. This problem is recorded under problem number IC34470 and was fixed in WMQI V2.1 CSD04. If you cannot upgrade to CSD04 then contact your IBM support team and they should be able to give you a fix for this problem. _________________ Regards

Thanks. I'll try to get our IBM consultants to get us CSD05 for our Control Centres & Config Manager, and CSD04 for our broker (on OS/390) then. |
