Can a string field be padded with zeros? If so, may I
know what's the value for padding characters? Padding
characters 0000 & 00 does not work (output with
blanks).
It should be possible to pad a String with zeroes. On the CWF physical format, the padding character of '0' is selectable from the drop down list.
In your append you mention that the tried 0000 and 00. It should be noted that the padding character should be a single character and not a string of characters.
It should also be noted that padding characters are only used in Fixed length environments such as on the CWF physical format and TDS Fixed length data element separations.
If this does not help you can you be more specific about what you have set in your MRM messageSet and what your output message is being created as and what you actually expect.
