Hi all,

I have a subflow that is used by many messageflows. It has two promoted properties. I recently created a new msgflow that is using this subflow. Everything worked fine in my sandbox, so I went to move it to DEV. When I exported my new flow, the subflow went with it. I figure there was no harm to that as I had not changed anything in the subflow. When I deployed my new flow everything was fine and it worked well. However, now all the existing flows that used that subflow were bombing. It seems that the old flows that used that subflow now had 4 promoted properties. the same 2 and then those same 2 duplicated only left blank. The message flow seemed to be ignoring the old 2 filled in promoted properties and looking at the new promoted properties, one of which was a queue name and blank and generating 2085's. Filling in the 2 blank promoted properties resolved the problem, but where did they come from and why? Has anyone run across this. I am wondering if it is because my sandbox is Websphere 2.1 CSD5 and my DEV environment is Websphere 2.1 CSD2? I am not using any of the new functionality provided with CSD5 so thought it would be ok. Does anyone have any ideas on this or have they experienced this? Also, is there a way to keep the subflow from going with the exported messageflow? It seems like that is what caused this problem, but I am not sure. Thanks in advance for any insights.

You maybe should have redeployed all your flows that used the subflow. I don't understand where the extra properties came from, unless the names were changed somehow.

There is a SupportPack IC01 that contains mqsifiltermsgflows.bat that will allow you to extract just your main flow from the export.

Hi Jeff,

I did redeploy them all. That is where the problem came in. I did a delta deploy at the broker level because a new messageset was going with the new flow. That is when they picked up the duplicate(blank) promoted properties. The subflow only has 2 properties promoted but now the old messageflows have the 4, and it apparently disregards the older two as though they are not even there. The names are identical, two each of the same name . I don't get it either. Thanks for responding though. And thanks for the extract info. I think that probably would have prevented this problem.
