I would like to convert an inbound xml message and map to an MRM defined CWFXML physical format, to take advantage of the predefined XML formats, rather than have to create the outbound XML message with raw ESQL. Does anyone have a sample workflow that illustrates this?

You can do this by defining your input and output XML messages in message sets, either by importing DTDs or schemas or by defining the elements, complex types and messages, and then using the Mapping Node to drag/drop fields from the input message definition to the output. It is not difficult to do. The draft redbook (http://publib-b.boulder.ibm.com/Redbooks.nsf/9445fa5b416f6e32852569ae006bb65f/c1acd62f3f68dcd785256d160036bf8d?OpenDocument&Highlight=0,integrator) has a description of manually defining messages in the Workbench.

Of course, all discussions of Mapping nodes and "Workbench" relates only to version 5 of MQSI/WMQI/WBIMB, and not to 2.1 or 2.0 versions.

But other than that, what TonyD says is right. This is very easy. Define your inputs and outputs in the MRM, and create ESQL to map between them.
