Does anyone know the default MUSR_MQADMIN password? I was told that there is an IBM book that actually lists the password, but I have yet to find it.

Our security folks don't like the idea of using the default MUSR_MQADMIN password when starting the IBM MQSeries service on Windows 2K.

Why cant you just change the password for the user and then change the password in the service startup screen to match ???

You can change password throgh windows "User Manager" for MUS_MQADMIN. Then you need to change password for for "IBM MQSeries Serivec" by editing the DComCnfg. This is the procedure for this.

type "DComCnfg" on command prompt and hit enter.
In next screen, select "IBM MQSeries Service" under "Application" tab and hit "Properties button".
Select "Identity" tab and change password for "MUST_MQADMIN" there.
you should use the same password that is used in "User Manager".

Thanks for all the replies.

I know the procedure for changing the password. I guess my whole this was that there is a redbook (or something) from IBM that tells what the password is for MUSR_MQADMIN.
