Hi,
I have worked with WMQI on NT environment having all 3 components installed on a single machine. This is the first time i am installing and configuring WMQI on a unix machine.
I have installed/configured WMQI2.1 (no csd's) on AIX and have created the broker. Tested by deploying a sample mesage flow. My doubts are with the NEON component.
I installed the NNSY component on AIX after my WMQI install, from the NNSY directory.
1st Question:
If i install the NEON component on AIX, do i have to install the NNSY support on my NT machine too (where i have my Config mgr and Control centre) I would need a NT/2000 machine for the GUI (neon formatter and Rules) where i can define formats/rules. If the answer is yes...where would my NNSY database be? on the AIX machine or the NT machine?
If its on the AIX machine..how would i log onto the NEON formatter GUI on the NT? Do i have to catalog the NEON database?
How abt the NN_CONFIG_PATH environment variable? I would have 2 nnsyreg.dat files one on AIX other on NT? I am confused?? Surprisingly there is no information /documentation on NEON component install on the WMQI2.1 manuals. I searched all of them. What is the working model??
2nd Question:
I issued the inst_cmd after i installed the NNSY component. Filled in the values, so it creates a NNSY database. The command failed and displayed the error message
*******************************
SQL1092N "MQM " does not have the authority to perform the requested
command.
Instance Attachment Information
Instance server = DB2/6000 7.2.6
Authorization ID = DB2INST1
Local instance alias = DB2INST1
SQL1092N "MQM " does not have the authority to perform the requested
command.).
*******************************
The user id i used when i issued this command is mqm and not "MQM". The command used to create my broker was
mqsicreatebroker testbroker -i mqm -a mqmuser12 -q devqmr -n MQSIDBBK -u db2inst1 -p db2admin
where db2inst1 is the username to connect to the MQSIDBBK database. I switched to db2inst1 user and issued inst_db. I gave an error:
$ inst_db
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program inst_db because of the following errors:
0509-150 Dependent module libinfr21.so could not be loaded.
0509-022 Cannot load module libinfr21.so.
0509-026 System error: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
What am i doing wrong? seeking your inputs for both my doubts.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,

Vishal,
On question one:
If you intend to use NEON nodes or message types on your flows you will need to install the NEON/NNSY plug-ins on your Windows machine. This assumes you will be testing on Windows. The database where the Formatter and Rules definitions are contained my reside where ever you like so long as the connection to this database is defined in the NNSYREG.DAT file.
If you wish to keep your Formatter and Rules configurations on your AIX machine you can install a client on the Windows machine that can access that database, and GUI as well as runtime tools should be able to get access.
The NNSYREG.DAT file is used by NEON to define database connections, transports and other neat stuff. It is likely that you will need a couple of these files as the client configurations on the 2 machines may be different.
Question two:
This looks like an easy one, your environment is not properly configured to run inst_db.
You should have the ability to run db2 in your current shell along with the NNSY variables set, the PATH, LIBPATH should include the /usr/lpp/nnsy/bin or where ever NEON is installed.
