I am recieving a CICS bridge reply message with MQCIH from the OS/390 onto a Win 2000 WMQI broker input queue. The recieved message is still in EBCDIC codepage format and needs to be converted to Ascii at some point. Does any one have any suggestions at to how this can easily be done? IBM have suggested that the the conversion be done on the OS/390 before it gets to Win 2000, but have not indicated exactly how to do this. Can this be done/controlled through the CICS bridge and if so how, or do I need to write a conversion exit program? _________________ Graham Webb

You have to set message conversion on in the sender channel. Make sure the Bridge code, which includes the conversion exit for the header, is in the correct DD for the CHIN for conversion exits.
Also, if your payload isn't character, then you'll have to provide a conversion exit for that as well.
