First of all, I'm working with MQSeries (Websphere MQ) in a windows environment.
I have an mqseries 5.1 queue manager here on a windows server. I have put 'BEPUU\Domain MQM' in the MQM local group. Now I try to run an administrator tool (admin console in windows, to administer mqseries) as BEPUU\GVG, who is a member of 'BEPUU\DOmain MQM'...
But, I can't connect... Why is this?
Does MQSeries have a problem with the groups, or maybe with the space in the group? I can't trial & error, because this is a very critical system!
Edit: I have tried to work with the group 'BEPUU\mqm', and this seems to work... What's the thing with those groups???
Another small question is the following: in MQ 5.3, is it necessary for the user/group to be a member of the local mqm group, or is it enough to be a member of the local administrator group? Is this also in MQ 5.1, maybe??? We have an MQ 5.1 Qmgr, and it seems there are no members in the mqm local group! I AM a member of the administrators group though, and i CAN administer the Qmgr!?
How does this work exactly?
Tnx
Gert

I'm getting 'AMQ4043' 'Queue manager not available for connection. Ensure that the queue manager is running. If the queue manager is running on another computer, ensure it is configured to accept remote connections'
I'm sure though that the QM is available, and ready for remote connections (It worked for me, after changing th group name to 'mqm' instead of 'Domain Mqm'. Could it be the space that is the problem, or the fact that 'BEPUU\Domain MQM' counts more than 12 characters?)

Queue manager not available for connection is not a security problem
it is a channel listener issue.
Do you have a reason code ??? 2059 ??? _________________ Jeff
