Hi,
I have an WebSphere MQ 5.3 installation on Windows 2000.

I know where the log files are located but they seem to be in a binary format. How can I see the log files can what can the tell me.

Where can I find info on how to interpret the contents of the log files.

Thanks
Jason

They are used internally by MQSeries. There is no documentation/information available as to their contents.

Cheers,

Are you perhaps after errors logs?

These are found in.

MQ_HOME\errors
MQ_HOME\qmgrs\@SYSTEM\errors
MQ_HOME\qmgrs\<qmgr name>\errors

There will be a ring of 3 files AMQERR01.LOG -> AMQERR03.LOG

The 01 log file will always hold the most up to date info!

Hope this helps!

Jamie

No. If you want to monitor MQSeries for performance and events, then you need to write or buy programs to receive notifications from MQSeries.

There's a manual new with 5.3 that specifically addresses this topic, if I recall correctly.
