I am getting a problem when starting the UserNameServer. The system is WMQI 2.1 on Solaris. The /var/adm/messages is getting hammered with the following error message. Lo & Behold, the BIP error message is not in the docs and a search of the IBM.COM web site also comes up a blank..
Has anyone encountered this before and/or got a solution. (The messages has had dome <CR><LF> inserted to make it a bit more readable.

The reason for this error message (repeated many times for different users) is that the offending users are NOT part of a NAMED GROUP.
It is not invalid to create a Unix User an not be in a named group. There could be valid security reasons for this. The UserNameServer fails to translate a group name into a number as it is already a number hence the error message.
I have suggested that this could be made clearer in future releases ofthe documentation.
So, If you see this message then now you know why... _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.
