This is a real bugger if I saw one, which I haven't. I am getting a BIP0014E when I attempt to check in an element, message, or type for my message set. I saw this once before, and just had the WMQI Admin remove the message set from the database since I don't have direct access to it.
How would I resolve this bugger?

Could you post your environment details? Like WMQI version and CSD level with platform details. _________________ Kiran

Sorry about that. I am using WMQI v2.1 CSD 5. Broker is on AIX while config mgr is on NT.
I have started producing a trace using mqsilcc but it is a dog. |

Never saw this error before! You also have latest CSD on your machine.
Did you run mqsireadlog and mqsiformatlog commands after enabling the Control Center trace? You can use following command to read the Control Center trace,
Code: |
mqsireadlog ControlCenter -t -b ControlCenter -f -o CCTrace.xml
mqsiformatlog -i CCTrace.xml -o CCTrace.txt
|
See if something else shows up in the trace file. Also look for additional error messages in Windows Event viewer. _________________ Kiran

I have attempted to use the mqsireadlog with no success. I have used your command along with what is in the manual, which is pretty much identical. I get no output file, no errors, nothing. One problem we are experiencing is the config manager seems to be dropping unexpectantly, so the WMQ/WMQI Admin is looking into this.

Well, I honestly don't know what the problem is. I had my colleague create a simple message set from his instance of the Control Center, and I then added that to my workspace. I then added an element to the elements folder and attempted to check it in, and I received the BIP0014E error.
Don't get it. Anyone else. I am about to tell someone to scrap my system and rebuild it from scratch.
Your insight in this matter is greatly appreciated before I do the ultimate troubleshooting.

Well, I have seen some weird error messages when trying to work on a message set and simultaneously someone tried to do a deploy of the same message set.
Did anything change on your system since last time it worked? Check your disk space, write permissions etc.
I think there is something wrong with your local repository (C:\WMQI2.1\Tool\repository\private\<your_host_name>\<your_qmgr_name>\MRM) directory.
Sorry, I couldn't be of much help here.
You may try re-installing your Control Center application. _________________ Kiran
