Is it possible to have one certificate installed on more than one server? We have two production servers that need to have the same certificate, but have heard that certificates are associated with server name and address. Only one is running at a time, but we wouldn't want to redistribute certificates to clients so they can connect to the other server. All platforms are 2000 with MQ 5.3 CSD04. |

Distributing the certificate with the private key to more than 1 server defeats the purpose of it being a personal certificate. However, the certificate doesn't have to have any information relevant to the host or queue manager in windows, so it is feasible. |

So, if that same certification on server one is copied to the other server and installed into the key repository, it will install and process the same as on the initial server? I guess we aren't so concerned about it being a personal certificate in more than one place, but that we can switch between two servers without affecting a large client base with new certificates. |
