Does anyone know if there's a way either within the modeler tool or perhaps a registry hack to always have the modeler tool come up in integration mode as opposed to the basic editing mode? Thanx.

From the menu

Format -> Preferences

In the dialog then select Default in the Preference List, then scroll down to #18 basic editing double click in the right Entry field and select Integration.
