Hi,
I have been given the responsibility of designing/Architecturing of MQ Infrastructure. I have already the burden on Application development . I have worked with MQSeries but my time is running out .I am not able to concentrate both on Application development in JAVA and middleware development.(My manager doesnt have funds to have staff, he wants to get the work done with existing staff)
Can any of the MQ architects/ Experts who has some guidelines/Architecture documents share with me. It will help me finish my assignment in time. MQ architecture/Infrastructure documents , please forward to my email radhika1114@yahoo.com
We have Mainframe, Solaris, NT environments to integrate.
Thank you verymuch

This sounds like a headache, but honestly each environment involves different designs and just coming up with a generic architecture is not always the right one. You have 3 typical integration environments that require integration with one or more applications. On the mainframe I assume you will needs to deal with CICS? What about IMS? Any databases? Are you doing transformation or content base routing? What about Web/Internet presentations that interact with the middleware? Are you going to have clients on the distributed side that use the queue managers on the mainframe? How many queues and queue managers do you foresee? What about clustering? What about monitoring tools? What programming languages do you need to support within the infrastructure if any, i.e. Java obviously?
These are just some of the many questions that have to be asked when designing a MQ Infrasturcture. I haven't even gone into hardware or personel resources. Tell your boss you need dedicated time to work on this, otherwise I suggest you bring in someone who can.
Good luck and if you need help let me know
