I got this message when trying to do the runmqsc, What is the reason for getting this error and how does one recover from it?

what type of logging do you use.try looking up the error logs for a detailed description of the problem.Hope you have the backup of the QMGR since the only way for recovering if using circular logs is using the QMGR backup fro data and log and restarting the QMGR.For linear logging delete the corresponding file for that object and restart the QMGR.

Then again the recovery for the linear log case only works if none of your queues are damaged.If not you will have to go back to the backup and restart.
