I'm uninstalling a WMQI 2.1 from my laptop to install the WBIMB V5.
Have anyone of you tried to install, together with WBIMB, the Control Center only of the 2.1 to be able, at least, to connect to remote Configuration Managers?!
Cheers,

I have tried to install the WBIMB v5 developer tools only onto a machine that already has a Control Cetner only install on it.
That doesn't work. The WBIMB installer fails, saying it can't coexist with another version of the same product.
I haven't tried to run a v2.1 install on a machine that already has a v5 install.
But I'm fairly positive that won't work either, or will work but leave everything in pieces on the floor. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I agree that probably a full installation would crash everything but I'm wondering if just a java interface like the Control Center could interfere with WBIMB....

I think even the Control Center is only mostly Java. Otherwise, if it were *all* Java, it would run on something other than Windows, yes? And I don't think it does.
I'd say it's worth a shot to try it, but I don't think it will work at all or will break things. So I don't think it's worth a shot unless you have a scratch box. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

The 2.1 Control Center installation process points directly in the same folder where I have installed WBIMB, this means that they share something in common: a key registry, a name, etc.

Thanks a lot Marc, this is GREAT stuff!
Did you experienced any pb using both WBIMB and the 2.1 CC?!
Are they stable?
Cheers,
Andrea
PS I've been once in UK at Candle... had a workshop but I can't remember who kept it! |
