Long Running Transaction

We have a long running transaction tat is filling all the logs (circular logs) and causing the transaction to roll back.

Can anyone suggest what has to be done in these circumstances.

- If the transaction has commits after each message, does it help.

Commiting after every message will help, but at the cost of the overhead of doing a commit call after every message.

A more reasonable approach is to commit every n number of messages.

But perhaps your business logic does not lend itself to commit except for at the very end of the entire transaction. If the long running transaction eventually does commit, then maybe you should increase the size of the logs to encompass this long running transaction. At version 5.3 of MQ, you can specify logs that will house several gigabytes of data.
