I am assuming that there is a JVM on Open VMS. In principle, the classes should run just fine. You will only be able to connect to a remote queue manager (or a local queue manager as a client) since there is no mapping for the JNI interfaces to any local queue manager.
Make sure that the JVM that is running is at the minimum level for the MA88 classes.... (just looked it up ... apparently 1.1.8 will work with 1.2 or better preferred)
I'd be very interested to hear back what you find. Although the MA88 MQ Java interface is 100% pure java, it doesn't look like IBM will support on platforms other than:
o AIX
o HP-UX
o iSeries
o Linux
o OS/390
o Solaris
o Windows
