replaced my password with a 10 char ANSI password and I still get a failure. |
I'd also be curious if a 8 character password makes a difference, or a 12 character password, i.e. something in a multiple of 4. Just a off the wall idea. Still curious about ruling out the password protection feature though, so let us know when you try without that. _________________ Morag Hughson @MoragHughson

Thanks - it's good to know that it is working for someone! I'm curious about how the Original Poster is getting on though. I wasn't really suggesting that everyone tried it! _________________ Morag Hughson @MoragHughson

I'm still in the process of testing. I locked my account and am waiting for Linux Admin to reset it for me. |

Here are my latest findings:
1. amqsputc without user id -> PASS
2. amqsput without user id -> PASS
3. amqsput with userid -> PASS
4. amqsputc with userid -> FAIL
5. amqsput with userid and wrong password, failure -> PASS
6. Set CHCKCLNT(NONE), amqsput with userid and no password entered, successful -> PASS
I have given up on MA01, I always get RC(11). I think this is because I installed MQ on a location different to the standard one. |

Ok - well just use amqsputc and turn off password protection then? I thought it would be easier to just run a pre-V8 app to avoid password protection, but you can just as easily turn it off on V8 instead. _________________ Morag Hughson @MoragHughson

Morag: We need password protection on the channels. We've been using Capitalware MQAUSX on all our existing servers. So, you are saying there is a possible defect? I'll raise a PMR. |

I honestly don't know if there is a defect here, I was just trying to assist you in working out WHERE the problem was with your setup by getting you to try different things. I wasn't suggesting you should run without password protection permanently, I was just trying to rule it out as the culprit here. If the problem went away when you turned off password protection then that would squarely point the finger at it, however, if the problem still existed with password protection turned off then that would exonerate it and we'd look to something else.
If there is a defect, it could be in one of a variety of places due to the various different things that get involved over a client connection. If you'd rather open a PMR then that would be fine. _________________ Morag Hughson @MoragHughson
