Anyway, we have reached a point when we can say there is a timeout, so we can tell the customer a value for "latency", am I right ?

Again, there is no "unique" value, but it has to be configured in NFS.

Yes.
In the same way there's a certain amount of latency before HACMP / Veritas / SCS / ... detects there's an issue and fails over in this Active / Passive model.
If you want to avoid this, you need an Active / Active model. Which comes with both advantages and disadvantages, just like Active / Passive. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
