An * is OK for the MQCONNX call, but not an MQOPEN / MQPUT1 call. I think its working as designed.
Peter, he is talking about JMS and connection factory. So unless he coded the queue manager name in the destination (which would be a no-no with a * as this is not a known destination), you should be able to access a temporary queue / topic when using a chl table and a *QMGR in the connection factory's qmgr field...
What I failed to understand here is if the op just blanked out the *QMGR from the destination or had to change the CCDT to use a blank qmgr name. _________________ MQ & Broker admin
