I'm not sure what are you expecting? You can script the startup of the next standby. You can script the startup of the next standby after that. |
How can we script it as we never know when the failover will occur
so do we need to continuously check the active instance and make the Script run for stand by when ever it can't find the active instance availabilty?
Thanks, |

Yes. You need to build this, and all the other things that are built into HA software products. Because if you're not buying one, you need to build one. How much automation you can get into this depends on how much time & money you devote to the development.
Which comes back to the point about how much HA software "costs". If you're spending as much developing your own solution (and maintaining it as the years go by and WMQ et al change) as a commercial solution costs, is it really a saving? Because with a commercial solution, the guy who wrote it won't have left the company at any point & you'll still get support.
Remember most HA products use one kind of script or another to stop & start instances. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

No. Because only you know your situation and most importantly the cost to your business of a failure & how much they're prepared to pay to mitigate.

Again, only you know how keen your management are to remove VCS, i.e. how much too expensive it is. Clearly there's a saving in effort in not removing it and configuring something else, but how much? How many servers does it currently protect? How complex is the protected software stack?

I feel sure all these vendors provide support.
You're in a software evaluation & purchasing situation. If you're not comfortable, you might benefit from investiging in a few days consultancy from an experienced person.
But given how cost-averse your management seem to be, I suspect you're stuck. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
