Let's be clear. Even *I* wouldn't attempt to install MQ on zOS without having had specific training on zOS itself.

And having done it in the past, I wouldn't try it again without lots of planning and the buy-in of the sys progs. Even something as simple as a bad change to the LLA can make you unpopular, and of course a poorly chosen CPF can make the system nearly unusable!

(There's actually a specific section in the WMQ docs on choosing a CPF that's well worth a careful read).

No. It's more like

//INSTALLMQ JOB REGION=0M,USER=MQM,TIME=1440,CLASS=X
//JOBLIB DD DSN=A:
//RUNIT EXEC PGM=INSTALL,REGION=0M,TIME=1440
//SYSOUT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSIN DD *
INSTALL SERVER
/*
//

from 1985 till somewhere in 1994 I did a lot of stuff on the mainframe on VM (CMS and later the infamous PROFS!) and TSO, last year I did the MQ z/OS admin course and my head was in a tail spin for about the complete course...

in the end I did manage to get my own queuemanager running

without proper training or help from a very friendly and knowledgeable sysprog, I think this is a mission impossible...
