If they are specifying the local queue manager on the MQOPEN, then they are requiring that the queue exists on the local queue manager.
It's not going to re-look up the local queue manager, I believe...
So you need to specify a qremote for the queue, which has the same name in rqname and nothing in the rqmname. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Yeah, I tried that. MQOPEN fails with reason 2087 - MQRC_UNKNOWN_REMOTE_Q_MGR.
I think I'll just have to try to get the vendor to change their MQOPEN call. |

Yes, you are correct. In the MQOPEN option for cluster queue it states, "If you specify the name of the local queue manager in the MQOD, the local instance of the cluster queue is selected." So it would ignore the queue manager alias and try to find the queue on the local queue manager. Guess that is why you are a "Grand Poobah".
Thanks for all your help, and Vitor's too. I'll try to get our vendor the change their MQOPEN call I guess. Otherwise I'm stuck. Either way, I guess this thread can be closed. |
