One possible design:

- Obtain a list of all channels
- Obtain all possible statuses (stati? Not relevant)
- For each channel that has no status, "invent" a status for display purposes as you'll know it's situation (by virture of the fact there is no real status).

Other designs are possible and are equally (if not more) valid.
