It's only appropriate we move this message to the new ICS forum!

First of all, bduncan you are the man!
But second, I think a name like "WBI ICS + Adapters" is a bit problematic - people will think you meant "WBI + ICS + Adapters" or that "WBI ICS" is simply another name for WBI; We'll get posts about WBI in the wrong forum... Although IBM advertises these as similar products there is nothing further from the truth.
I think something like "WBIe (ICS) + Adapters" or "WBI Express (ICS) + Adapters" would be better; coupled with an update to the name of "WMQI (MQSI) Support" to "WBI (WMQI/WMB/MQSI) Support", I think we'll be in the clear - save us some questions like Help - Understanding a few things that keep popping up. |

I may be wrong, but isn't IBM's future direction headed towards renaming all its product suite......WBI Diamond something |

hopsala,
I like your suggestions, but I want to try and mimic the latest IBM lingo, so I'm going to go with:
WebSphere Interchange Server + Adapters
Hopefully enough people will understand what that means, and to help the long description says:
"Covers WebSphere Interchange Server (ICS/WBI Express) and WebSphere Business Integration Adapters" _________________ Brandon Duncan

I also took your advice about the WMQI forum. It's now called:
WBI (WMQI/WMB/MQSI) Support
With description: "Covers WebSphere Business Integration Server and WebSphere Message Broker products." _________________ Brandon Duncan

Hm, "WebSphere Interchange Server + Adapters" is definitely better, but I think you shouldn't drop the string "(ICS)" from the forum name, as many people know it by that name alone.
(I say, making suggestions with such immediate impact is somewhat scary ) |

Big change from the year or so it took to get the ICS forum eh?
But in fact I finally have some free time to monitor this site now that my big release is out of the way... _________________ Brandon Duncan

While digging up old posts from the MQSeries.net archives I found Crossworlds Forum, I believe it to be the first request to an ICS forum, posted Dec 2002...
p.s some very interesting information is floating about in this site's archives, just waiting to be read, I had already found a curious post named Strange Encounter... describing the possibility of negative curdepth (although sadly the link attached is no longer available) |
