Based on how tough it was for us to configure ICS with a JDBC connector and WMQ connector, we wished we had a forum for this. I still think we need an ICS forum here. I have seen some people posting some useful replies regarding the product. I know I have asked the same question before and it didn't excite many people.
There is no downside to having an extra forum.
Ideas please. |

I am all in for a forum for WBI ICS here. I had real tough times configuring the Workflow, MQ and JDBC adapters with this product. A forum like this would have helped a lot. _________________ -Ratan |

Yeah.
Let's do this, please.
I just hope someone out there knows this product well enough to help the rest of us.
The last time I tried doing stuff with ICS, it was like debugging a cobol program - ignore all but the first error, and fix that one. Then see what new errors crop up. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I agree...
I was also thinking it would be good to have a Pub/Sub forum too. _________________ Yes, I am an agent of Satan but my duties are largely ceremonial.

I don't know when the last forum was added, but the world of mq has certainly gotten bigger since then. When I first started with MQ and WMQI, I learnt so much from these forums and I have enjoyed contributing and learning ever since.
Would there be a proposal for seperate ICS and WBI adaptor forums? The adaptors were originally part of Crossworlds/ICS, but they are now capable of working with WBIMB, ICS and WAS - as well as any other broker that can do MQ, so would it make sense to have seperate forums? Perhaps, people would be confused as to which to use, so perhaps a better title for the forum would be 'ICS/WBI Adaptors'.
Coming up is the new messaging engine in WAS6, it would be nice to have a forum from the start, so that it quickly establishes itself as a point of reference. |

I have not seen many posts related to ICS here, so I personally think ICS questions can be posted into General Discussion forum. _________________ Kiran

It could be possible that people like me never know that we could post questions here. I searched here first then went to ittoolbox.com.
As such, number of developers on ICS are far less compared to MQSeries. |

I dont post ICS questions in the general discussion forum because I dont know if any one would help. I think having an exclusive forum would definetly attract more participation from the members. _________________ -Ratan |

We consider ICS completely different from WMQ, so it is handled by a different group. I'd vote for having a separate forum. |

Well.. there are supportPacs listed on that page for Websphere Data Interchange also, so you want a seperate forum for WDI also? jk!! _________________ Kiran

I know this thread was killed a while back, but trying to see if any of you guys have changed their mind.
My arguments for a seperate forum for ICS are
1) It will attract the Gurus of the ICS field to this forum.
2) It will attract more activity in ICS domain to be posted in this forum.
3) Will be a knowledge base for everybody to refer to. (I search in this forum when I encounter a problem and 95% of the time find a similar thread.) _________________ -Ratan |

I am skilled in mq and wbimb and would like to add new skills to my skill set. I am so used to this site and would love to see new forums like ICS, WBI Server, WAS etc., added to this site. _________________ Nyzam
