Hey,
What is MQ Broker required for? The reason I am asking is that there Big is a different in the licensing with and without Brokering...
So if some can point me to things that can be done WITH broker and WITHOUT brokering it will be great for us to decide whether we need it or not.
Also let me know what you use broker for in your shop.
We will be using MQ with Weblogic application in my shop.
Sorry for asking this new bie question. I searched Redbooks/this site. I was not sure if Websphere Integration Broker and MQ broker are one and same.

Then we can't answer your question.
IBM makes three products that could be called "MQ Broker". One is WebSphere Business Integration Event Broker - which is a high speed publish/subscribe engine with topic and message level security. Another is WebSphere Business Integration Message Broker - which is a high speed routing and transformation engine and includes Event Broker. And the third is WebSphere Business Integration Message Broker with Rules & Formatting - which is WBIMB with an additional transformation engine.
Each one of these three products is more expensive than just MQ. Each one is more expensive than the previous one - in the order I listed. They all meet different needs.
And I suppose in some lights, WebSphere Business Integration Server Foundation could be considered an "MQ Broker", as could InterChange Server.
What will you be using MQ with WebLogic FOR, in your shop?

Ok. I will find out what this "Mq broker refers to" .
If it is easy for you, can you please point me to these 3 different product overview link.
I am sure the person who is asking me this, will not know which one it is. Let me check.

| The "MQ publish/subscribe broker" is part of the MQ product, not a separate product. Also known as MA0C Supportpac, though now integrated. Depending what functions you need that may or may not be what you're looking for. |
