I have a block inside a process.

There are some activities inside the block. say A1 --> A2. A1 is an UPES which populates some data variables in WF. I need to map these variables to the Global container so that I can generate stats like how many items are at A2 and the values of the data fields populated by A1.

I am unable to define a Global container defined at the block level. If I define the Global container at the process level, how do I capture the data coming in from Activity A1.

I think I got my answer. Once I defined the Global container at the process level, it was available to me at the block level also.

I had to switch to Buildtime to make it work though.

Koko are you suggesting that Modeler does not support this? I am pretty sure there was a PMR open on this, and that it had been fixed. What version of Modeler are you using?

As far as my experience goes with Modeler it is crap. I have a link added to my favourites with Fixpacks and patches for fixpacks and so on for that guy.

It is aslo highly unreliable for me. It was acting up weird as usual and I had to rely on my long time buddy Buildtime to get the job done.

FYI I have WBI Modeler 4.2.4 with latest fixpack 3 and patch 13.

Koko:

Rest assured that you can not be the worlds biggest Buildtime fan, because I hold that title.

While I am no fan of Modeler, I have learned to use it to do almost everything Buildtime can do... AND a few things it cant do. If you really can not get your Modeler version (exactly the same as I am running) which is quite current, if not the latest version of Modeler to support GDC within blocks you should open a PMR.

Hi Jmac,

My workbench is acting weird. when I try to import an FDL with CODEPAGE 1252, it is coming back with strange errors saying something like
" CODE PAGE 12526 is not supported ". And when I tried to import another FDL it said " CODEPAGE 125 is not supported".

I guess it suddenly un-learnt the numbers.
