Hi,

On page 6 of the "MQSeries Using Java" redbook, it says that to use bindings connection, "MQ Java must be installed on the MQSeries server". Does that only mean that the MQ Java has to be installed on the same machine as the MQS server, or does it mean that the MQ Java has to be configured within the MQS server somehow ?

When you run a Java application in binding mode, does it mean that you don't need to define a channel and don't have to specify the channel name, hostname, and port number to the MQEnvironment object before connecting to the MQQueueManager ?

thanks,
Alex

It means that the Support Pac has to be installed on the machine where you are running the Queue Manager.

Binding Mode means that the interface is 'cross memory', as opposed to a Client connect that requires a Channel. So, no 'connection' information needs to be given.

Cheers,
